      OR cooking an egg…. because I like eggs, especially poached 8)

      I think my favourite is probably the most familiar – a nice cosy fire on a winter day. After all this is just a chemical reaction – the oxidation of carbon!

      I like fire, too, and I like the flame tests for elements where you can tell what a substance is based on its reaction colour in a flame. My forensics experiment in school was to identify a powder using various chemical tests. It turned a beautiful bright red in a flame, which meant one of the component elements was strontium.
