• Question: How good would it be if you can make an actual Portal gun?

      What do you mean by a portal gun? Do you mean something to open up time/dimension travel?
      I’m a huge fan of rubbish sci fi movies and tv shows so if this is what you mean, I would **love** to have a portal gun! Get chased by dinosaurs, get eaten by Megashark, annoy the Daleks… I can think of all sorts of fun things to do with that kind of portal gun!

      Hey storz, are you referring to the portal gun from the computer game ‘Portal’? 🙂 If yes, lucky I am such a nerd! 😀
      I think it would be fun at first, but pretty soon it would create a huge mess with physical laws. Imagine if you shoot a portal from the wall next to you to the ceiling, gravity would turn in a right angle, I can’t even imagine what would happen then! Or if you shoot a portal here on the earth’s surface and the other one in outer space. The whole atmosphere would completely depressurize. I find all of that really scary :/

      Its not quite the same technology as a portal gun, but some scientists have been able to teleport tiny particles from one place to another place up to 16km away – we can really do this now:

      (the description in the link is a bit technical)

      However it is certainly not possible at the moment to teleport objects such as people – except in computer games of course!

      It would be amazing if I can make that. I have heard my friend said that some research have done that with light?? I dont know the group that has done it but I can ask my friend if you want to read about it 🙂
