• Question: How heavy is the Blue Wale?

      According to my googling, 108,000 kg but up to 136,000 kg. I’m not sure how accurate that is… it must be very difficult to weigh a whale!!

      Animals in water can be heavier than those on land because their weight is supported by the water. I lifted an old walrus skull once… it was sooo heavy!

      A blue whale can grow to be 30 metres (98 ft) in length and 180 metric tons (200 short tons) or more in weight. It is the largest animal ever known to have existed!

      It gets this big eating tiny krill though! Krill are tinly little shrimps that live in the sea:
