I can speak English (!), and basic French and Spanish.
I once had to try and understand some mathematical papers written in Russian though. I could almost understand it as a lot of the mathematical symbols were the same as in our language.
I speak English… je parle un petit peu de franΓ§ais. I loved French at school and almost decided to study it at university but biology won out!
I know a few words of German (“wunderbar” and “genau” are my favourites). And a few words of Greek.
I love learning languages! I wish I could speak Gaelic, I have a couple of friends who do. I’m hoping to do a nightclass in Spanish next year π Do you study languages at school?
I can only speak English and Cantonese. I have learnt German at high school and Spanish in Uni but wouldn’t say I can speak it well π
I have also learnt a bit of Mandarin (another chinese dialect).
I lived in Galway for 2 and a half years and worked at the Irish Marine Institute. I worked with quite a few people who used Irish as their first language – which made lunch breaks fun, albeit confusing…. π

Edd commented on :
I have some Irish phrases (very similar to Gaelic I think):
Dia duit!
Cen chaoi a bhfuil tu?
Ar mhaith leat lon?
Slan go foill!
Slainte!
Zara commented on :
… and what do they mean? I know ‘slainte’ at least! π

Bye for now!
