Nothing wrong with that – the whole point of “I’m a Scientist” is to help you (and for you to help us to learn how to help you… if that makes sense!).

I think we can help you by making you understand science better, and what being a scientist is like! But the only way we can do that, is if you ask questions (like you’re doing now, so good job!) or by chatting to us on the live chat.

Have you ever wondered what being a scientist is like? Or what going to university is like? Do you have questions about biology that you’ve always wondered about? Then we’re here to help you! Hopefully you’ll learn a lot… and hopefully some of the stuff we say will be interesting to you… or even inspire you to become a scientist yourself! 🙂

You have to be proactive and ask us questions – then we’ll try and help you!

Is there anything in your science (or maths) lessons at school that you don’t understand? Perhaps we can help explain it to you.

Is there anything about science that excites you and that you want more information about? Ask us if there is!

Or is there anything related to science that you have always wanted to know about? Any questions about how the world works or how animals behave and interact with their environment?

Or are you curious about the jobs we do and what it is like being a scientist?

I don’t think it is selfish at all because we are all doing research because we like it.. if we don’t like it we won’t be doing it.. so in a way we are all selfish- we do it because we find it fun?

But drug development and research can be related to anyone at some point? Because everyone gets ill whether it is just a cold or more serious stuff like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease etc. So if people we know or ourselves end up developing a horrible disease later on in our lives then it is good to know we have treatments for it and know how the treatment work (to reduce side effects)!

We can give you more details about life as a researcher if that is what you are thinking about doing? And we are here to answer any science things you thought about can’t quite explain yet.
