If I am being realistic (so that I have to rule out being a spaceman, or a footballer, or Indiana Jones) then I think being a scientist is quite close to my dream job! I get to find out new things every day, and can choose which things I study and research. I would like more time to do science (I also have to do admin work and teaching) but it is a great job to have and I know I am lucky to be able to enjoy my job so much! 🙂

I’m honestly really happy with what I’m doing right now! I get to study interesting animals, travel, be outside… every day is different and I love it. But if I HAD to start again, then my dream job would be a musician (although my musical skills are a bit on the…. rubbish side :p).

Either that, or an artist… or I’d do something to do with languages, I always enjoyed French at school and I think living abroad would be a great experience. I think it would be fun to be a comedian too (I’m actually thinking about doing stand up comedy at the Edinburgh festival this year!).

We have been asked this question a lot and I’m hoping to come up with different answers every time. One of the questions specifically said *not* being a scientist, so I’ll keep with that theme. I love to travel and would love to be a travel writer. it would be great to get paid to travel the world and experience everything and then write about it? I went to Malawi in January. If I could find reliable internet, I planned to join twitter. Sadly no luck. I only managed to get online twice in 10 days, but I did get to brag about seeing monkeys. The little ones are Africa’s answer to magpies. Troublemakers!

I enjoy what I am doing now so it is kind of a dream job! So I feel lucky that I have chosen something right for me to do as a job. But I feel that doing a PhD degree is more like a stepping stone on to a careeer so I guess dream job is doing more cancer research in a really good lab in a hot and sunny country 🙂 – like australia.. my friends have told me, they normally start the day early so they get off work earlier to do some surfing on the way home!! how amazing!!
If i can’t be a scientists.. I will be a celebrity chef (sometimes I talk whilst I am cooking.. like as if I am on a cook show or something :P) yes I can be weird and silly like that!!!
