      Hi josiek… crayfish are both predators AND prey! Their prey include… well, almost everything! Plants, invertebrates (little bugs that live in the river), fish eggs, fish, detritus (decomposed stuff on the river bed, like leaves), even each other – cannibals!

      Crayfish are also prey for other animals – like otters, mink, birds and big fish!
