• Question: what made you want to become a scientist?

      I think it’s my desire to always get to the bottom of things, I hate leaving questions unanswered … and many answers bring up further questions, and I guess, that’s what science is about.
      Many people have asked this question before, so you might want to browse through the previous questions. It’s worth it, they are really good!

      I don’t think I ever made a definite decision that I wanted to be a scientist. When I was at school and then at university I just knew that I wanted to carry on learning about new things as (like Nicolas) I still had lots of questions and was curious about lots of things. Now I have got to the stage where I have to do research to find out the answers to some of the questions I am interested in – nobody else has the answer!
