This is a really good question. I hope that you’re getting a lot out of interacting with us here. In terms of getting in return, I guess you mean from whoever wins. I’m sure the others will have similar answers. I hope to develop some environmental science experiments that can be done in school or on field trips. The prize money would cover supplies and hopefully go a long way to getting experimental kits out to schools.

I am not sure what you mean here!

Each scientist has a different idea for how to spend the prize money – have a look at the profiles and see which idea you like best.

Or ask us some more questions and see which scientist gives you the most helpful answers. Is there something from your science class that you don’t understand and need some help with? Or are you curious about some areas of science you haven’t studied? Or perhaps you just want to know more about what we do?

Ask us some questions and we can then help you!

You should then vote for the person you think has helped you the most.

      Hi woodsy!

Good question… well, hopefully by taking part in “I’m a Scientist get me out of here” and asking questions, you’ll get knowledge! And knowledge is power! You’ll get knowledge about:

      1. What scientists are actually like as people. We’re not all massive nerds in labcoats… some of us even go outside! 😉

      2. What being a scientist is like… how we spend our time, what sort of experiments we do… whatever! Anything you wanna know? Just ask!

      3. You’ll learn about some of the topics being researched at the moment. I’ve made a video describing my study animal here: http://www.tinyurl.com/imascientist

      4. Any questions about science that you’ve always wanted to ask – well this is your chance! This isn’t like a normal science class, you can ask what YOU want to know!

Hopefully after all that, you’ll realise that scientists aren’t (always) weirdos, scientists do interesting work, and some of the things we learn from science are really important! Then maybe you’ll think about becoming a scientist yourself, or at least taking an interest in it 8)

I think all the scientists taking part are not really thinking about winning the prize money but more about talking science to younger people!
And it is for you guys to ask us anything you want answering about science and hear about what sort of studies are going on 🙂
Well I would use the money to take a few classes out to visit the museums or any where (science related) that they want to go!

I don’t have more answers than the others 🙂 … I hope you get knowledge in return, and that you can now see what kind of people scientists are (it appears they’re people too ;)). And what I really hope is that you get some enthusiasm for science by participating in ‘I’m a scientist, Get me out of here’!
