I like lots of things about science so it’s hard to pick just one. The best parts about my job at the university are that I get to try new things and I get to work with students. I posted a list of research topics on my profile here. If someone asks me about research projects a year from now, this list will change. My students will have some influence on these interests. I thrive on change and I love the freedom that a career in science gives me to work on new things.

I like finding out new things and solving problems that nobody has been able to solve yet! This is very exciting when you finally get the right answer and get something to work – usually these are quite obscure problems but I still get excited when I have a ‘eureka’ moment and find something I hadn’t noticed before.

My favourite part of science is biology. My favourite thing about science is finding out new things about animals, and studying them outside in the wild! If we know more about animals and how they live, then we’ll be better able to protect them – so that future generations can appreciate them too! 🙂

My favourite is that I get to work with many people that are experts in this area- their ideas and input are always very useful and amazing!
Also, I get to study something I enjoyed since I was young (cell biology) and being able to continue to study cancer cell biology with the potential to help people always make me happy!

Also to hear about different researches like fish studies from Edd and Zara and more green/environmental science things from Christine and Nicolas! It’s so nice to hear others so passionate about their work!!

It’s really difficult for me to pick a favorite part. I love working outside, collecting data on the beach, enjoying the sunshine (when I’m lucky). Talking with people about their work and my own work is really great too. I went to a conference in March, it was really great to connect with all these people. Sometimes I even like sitting at my computer and getting sense out of the data I collected or writing a report, because it just shows me that my work is actually rewarding.
