Yes…. because quite often, kids ask some of the cleverest questions, the ones adults never think of! 🙂

I like talking to younger people (although I’m slightly nervous about the webchats on here! 😆 ) because they always give you a new perspective on things).

I don’t think I get ‘stuck’ but I am certainly surprised by some of the questions I get asked!

Sometimes it is difficult to explain our answers in language that is not too technical – it just means we have to think a bit more carefully about what we want to say.

Quite often I won’t know the answer to a question – although we are all scientists we don’t know everything about science! If I don’t know an answer I’ll try and help if I can or point you in the direction where you can find out more yourself.

      Most of the time!!
Young kids can think of things in a different way, which I have never even thought about in the same way so I have to think really hard on the best ways to explain stuff (using examples they can relate to)!
or I will suggest what words they can google to get more information if the subject is really hard and I have already tried my best explaining!

So far, I have already seen quite a few really good questions!!

I wouldn’t say I get stuck, but sometimes I have to think really hard of an answer, because I have never thought of the question before. Young kids have a way to ask questions adults never think of or are afraid to ask. There are no wrong or stupid questions, so I encourage everyone, kids and adults to ask away 🙂

My five year old niece is great at asking challenging questions. Thankfully none of them have involved science, but I think it’s only a matter of time!

Often kids ask the most interesting questions because they aren’t too caught up in how something *should* be or if someone think they are stupid for asking it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. If people laugh at your question, just smile and they will think you meant it to be funny. 🙂
