When I was younger I didn’t know what I wanted to do! I liked art, music, science, French.. it was hard to decide. It wasn’t until I got a bit older and did zoology at university that I decided I wanted to be a scientist.

….so I guess the answer is no!! I had no idea! :O

I liked studying science but I didn’t plan to be a scientist – that only happened after I had finished my university degree and I realised I still wanted to find out new things and study new areas that I hadn’t looked at before. Being a scientist allows me to do this so I am very pleased to be lucky enough to have a job I enjoy!

Likewise.. when I was younger I didn’t think to myself – I want to be a scientist! I just picked the subjects I enjoyed doing for GCSEs and my A Levels! But by my AS level I kind of knew I want to study cell biology because I really enjoy learning about it in 6th form!

I wanted to be a fashion designer first then it changed to being a business woman when I was younger!! And I think it changed quite a few times in between too 😛

I have wanted to be a scientist ever since I was fairly young. I think I was 12 or so. My mind has always been pretty set about that.
