We were in the driver’s cab and my son had just blown the whistle on the steam train we had been riding on. The train goes all the way up into the mountains in a Welsh valley (Rheidol valley). You can see the steam engine here:
We also saw loads of red kites in the valley while we were on this train – they were almost extinct in the UK a few years ago but have now recovered really well thanks to conservation efforts.
🙂
Good idea – I think I’ll have to get him to answer some of my questions – there’s too many for me on my own…!
I like Loch Ness as well – I used to do quite a bit of mountain climbing/walking in Scotland but haven’t been for ages. Do you go to the Isle of Arran much – it is close to Glasgow? I went there a few years back and really enjoyed it – there is a brewery there that makes nice beer (‘Aran Blonde’)… 😉
I’ve only been to Arran once! Been meaning to go back for ages but haven’t made it yet… I heard it’s good for cycling, v.flat! And of course I know the Arran Blonde 😉 Not a fan myself but I used to sell them by the crate-load when I worked in a pub.

@ Edd you should have submitted a photo of your son instead and pretended you were a child prodigy!
Loch Ness is beautiful… I rather enjoyed Rock Ness last year as well!
