That’s a really difficult question! I think probably the mudskipper. It’s a fish that can breathe on land, it’s very funny looking! David Attenborough filmed some of them in Japan a while ago, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KurTiX4FDuQ
I like cod – my name means baby cod! (Although i am vegetarian so I wouldn’t eat them of course!)
I also studied cod in some of my research. We looked at the management of cod in the Irish Sea (the sea between Wales and Ireland) and showed that they were being overfished. Our work was then used by the European Commison when they were setting up a new fisheries management plan for cod across Europe. It is always exciting when research gets used to do something really useful like this!
This see-through head fish is my favourite!! how cool/funny/strange to have a transparent head?
First time I have seen this was on the BBC documentary!!
Angel sharks are my favourite fish. They bury themselves in the sand to hide and stalk their prey. This is one type of angel shark: http://www.canaryvillas.me.uk/Diving/pages/12_AngelShark_JPG.htm though most times you see them in the sandy ocean bottom looking like a shark-shaped footprint. I got to pet one on a scuba dive — sandpaper skin. Really weird!
