I’m not sure! Either Charles Darwin (famous for his theory of evolution) or Charles Elton, the ‘father of animal ecology’.
My favourite scientist celebrity is David Attenborough though, I’ve always loved his wildlife programmes 🙂

I liked the TV series by Brian Cox.
I also liked reading the series of books by Ian Stewart – he was one of the first people who got me interested in using maths to look at problems in biology and ecology.

haha like Zara… David Attenborough’s TV stuff are great to watch and I find it hard to watch a documentary if it’s not his voice talking over it!! But I think Robert Winston is pretty good!!
If talking about non-TV ones.. then I would say Dr. Judah Folkman.. they called him the ‘father of angiogenesis’- the formation of new blood vessel from pre-existing ones. Sadly he passed away last year but his ground breaking resesarch have contributed a lot to knowing more about cancer.

I’d have to say James Hutton, who is considered to be the father of modern geology. Also love David Attenborough’s series and a presenter back home called Bill Nye the Science Guy. I don’t know if he’s still doing TV programmes but his website has some fun stuff on it: http://www.billnye.com/

My favorite scientist celebrity is Stephen Hawking. Because he is such a brilliant mind, and he makes an effort to explain really complex physics to everyone. Also he doesn’t let his disability stop him.
